Camo isn’t just for hunting anymore! I am currently obsessing over all and everything camo. For a day out strolling along the High Line in the West Village I decided to pull out my camo pants from Guess. They are spot on because the pants themselves are a lighter hunter green and the print is so subtle and blends perfectly. I also die over the gold ankle zipper which perfectly matches the gold studs on my Valentino rockstud flats. I decided to throw on one of my favorite white silk blouses from Equipment ( I have one in almost every color). They are so light and easy to throw on with any pair of pants or skirt! A good white blouse is a major wardrobe essential and they can easily pull together just about any outfit. Because it was going to be a little chillier on the water I pulled on my TSE Cashmere sweater over my blouse and it still looks just as good! To complete my outfit I wore a pair of Celine sunglasses that I purchased at one of my favorite stores Jeffrey Atlanta New York (which is located right underneath the High Line, of course I popped in afterwards). I grabbed my leather Hunter tote and was ready to take on the day!
Today’s post needs little explanation. This exceptional dress by Phoebe Couture is truly a special one. The strapless style with a satin belted waist is so feminine and soft. The layers of scalloped petals at the hem are a unique and eye catching detail. This dress would be perfect for a Labor Day White Party, a summer or even early fall wedding. It is an ivory color which will carry you safely past that Labor Day line, which has become very blurry anyways. I paired this dress with a favorite pair of Valentino shoe with a great crystal bow accent, adding to the girly feel. The only jewelry that was needed, if any, was a simple collection of David Yurman bracelets. This look is classic yet not stuffy and is timeless in nature. Dressing up is such fun!!!
The inspiration for today’s post is a favorite designer of mine from across the pond, Burberry. Burberry plaid is iconic and can be seen used in many ways. It can be seen as a simple lining of a hooded garment, a contrasting pocket on a t-shirt or it can be used as an overall pattern as in a traditional kilt or even a cape. No matter how it is used, it is always classic and simple. Today I chose to wear such a classic women’s white blouse adorned with the Burberry trim peeking out from the lined placket, it is also used as a detail along the seam of the placket in a small welting down the front. I wear this shirt with so many things, but today I paired it with an easy but detailed pair of khaki linen shorts. They are cuffed shorts in a longer length with a pleated waistband. They close with four covered buttons. All of these details, make them more of a dressy short. I’m wearing vintage purple and gold earrings and a statement ring to keep the clean look. I chose to carry a limited edition Burberry bag and am wearing Valentino flats. I like this look because it is tailored, dressy and clean-looking. To Burberry I say, “Well done, you!”
Today’s elegant outfit is a perfect storm composed of several designer labels. I excitedly pulled this outfit together and loved the end result. Early into the write-up, I realized that each of these pieces could really stand on their own and add oomph to any outfit. However, combined into one look, the result hits it out of the park. This neutral ensemble will get you noticed for all the right reasons. I am very excited to present this to you today and since I’m a fan of each item equally, I will introduce them top-down. My hair was flat-ironed and held back by a two inch quilted Burberryheadband in nude, patent leather. The Holy Lace Tube Top by Stone Cold Foxis truly elegant. It’s off the shoulder style and full slit back are details done to perfection. The lacy pattern lends itself perfectly to the easy flow of the top. I chose to put this top with a pair of Haute Hippielong, flowing, pleated pants. These two pieces together made a perfect outfit, but I couldn’t stop there. I accessorized with a gold Chanelchain and coin belt, a birthday gift I could not wait to Christen. On to the shoes! The Valentinopatent leather Rockstud Slingback pumps in blush (what a mouthful, but so sweet on the tongue) were an obvious choice. This power packed outfit needed very little in the way of jewelry. I added a few thin gold and crystal bangles onto my Cartier Love Bracelet and on the opposite hand, a large ivory and gold statement ring. My much-loved PradaSaffian Lux tote in Cammeo was the bag of choice and I was out! Not gonna lie, feelin’ fly!
