Hello, GoodBye

Today’s post features one of the best style details out there.  When the outfit looks as good when you approach to say, “Hello” as it does when you turn to say, “Goodbye”, you’ve got a winner!  Such is the case with today’s Ted Baker romper.  It caught my eye because of the bright orange color and flattering, simple style with the Jackie-O-esque collar.  It is so feminine and easy (maybe even a little sexy?!). Rompers are where it’s at! The three-quarter length sleeves and color make it a perfect transitional piece from summer to fall. As far as I was concerned, it was a winner at first glance! But then…. I saw the back detailing and it was like falling in love all over again!! This is where you might even look better saying goodbye and walking away.  Because of the low crossover detail, I had some fun and wore my necklace backwards down my back.  It is a special piece that was given to me several months ago that reads, “Happiness”. When you wear the mantra daily, it serves as a constant reminder that, no matter what, there is always something to be happy about!  With this rather simple and plain (yet, anything but boring!) outfit, I pulled out my Favorite shoes.  These Louis Vuitton peep toes with double straps that close with big gold buttons on the sides are truly spectacular.  I adore them and they work to perfection with this outfit.  I carried a little Christian Dior canvas monogram bag and wore a collection of some of my Hermes H bracelets .  So, You say Goodbye and I say Hello…. Hello, Hello because no matter, This looks great either way!!

Hidden Gem

That feeling when you a find a special article of clothing that you know you will not see others wearing and you know is really beautiful and unique………

Such is the case with this little dress that is in such a rich color and fabric with a brilliant style and many details. The bold collar and buttons, the bubble-like hem and the baby pleating that makes up the back of the bodice all add to the overall appeal of this very feminine piece. This dress can literally take you anywhere! I paired it with black thong sandals for a walk in the garden on a hot summer day. It could easily be worn with heels and flats for an equally darling look. I have even worn this over black leggings for an evening concert. For today’s look, I added the Monogram Nano bracelet by Louis Vuitton and a thin, medium size gold hoop earring. I wore my Gold Gucci Aviator sunglasses for a perfect complement to this look. This dress is honestly so great and it is not a big name designer with a huge ticket price. That is part of the joy of wearing it. People always assume otherwise. I purchased this at a little boutique in a seaside town, Manasquan, NJ. A big part of the excitement and fun that adds to my love of fashion is finding these hidden gems in unexpected places. My challenge to you- next time you pass a shop that you think “looks like nothing from the outside”, take a minute to pop in, you just never know!!

Beneath the Brooklyn Bridge

When I saw the piece for today’s post, I knew immediately when and where I would be wearing it if it suited me as well as it did the hanger. Thank goodness, I think it did. When I put it on, I did not want to take it off……..ever! I felt like a princess.  This Alice and Olivia Gab Pleated Halter Jumpsuit is 100% polyester and flows beautifully.  The details are subtle, yet add to the awe at every turn.  The cut-out back closes with an exposed center zipper, so it is not to be missed.  I had no choice but to wear my hair up so the ‘T’ design was not covered. The bodice is made up of tiny soft pleating and adds another element of sophistication.  The only color this jumpsuit comes in is white, which is so fitting because it truly is so special.  This outfit is certainly deserving of one of my prized pair of shoes ( a match made in heaven!).  These shoes are like artwork and I only wear them for very special occasions, as I did on my 18th birthday.  The Louis Vuitton sandals are delicate and sleek.  When you look closely, you will find that the crystals form the designs in the logo that is LV. I added a crystal upper arm bracelet and wore a wide black Chanel cuff bursting with crystals in the Chanel logo.  I carried the Soho leather chain crossbody  Gucci bag in black.  The ensemble was perfect for the setting below the Brooklyn Bridge. It is magical as you watch constant boat traffic and the lights of the city come alive from the River Café in Dumbo.

Green With Envy

I started creating this outfit by pulling out one of my absolute favorite pair of pink and green shorts. These shorts are great because they can be both casual and dressy, they can be worn to almost any event from an afternoon out, to a casual dinner.  My wardrobe does not consist of a lot of J.Crew clothing, but these shorts are a bit unique and this design is great. Next, I pulled a new green, long, loose knit Free People sweater that I had yet to wear. The color was too perfect  and the long length is a nice diversion from a traditional preppy cardigan.  I couldn’t pass it up.  I  paired my shorts and sweater with a plain white tank, so I did not take anything away from the look of the other pieces.  In wearing the plain shirt,  accessorizing was warranted! I chose a long green and pearl wrap lariat, and a pair of green and gold vintage earrings. These accessories were perfect because they were simple and elegant, nothing over the top. For my handbag, I carried the Louis Vuitton monogram canvas Beverly bag. It worked well because it is a classic bag, and the large, gold closure in front compliments  the gold in my other accessories. Finally, on to my favorite aspect of most of my outfits, the shoes. These shoes are one of my favorite pairs. They are gold, metallic gladiator sandals made by Stuart Weitzman. They make pretty much any outfit a little more eye catching. I was then ready for a long day of errands and catching up with friends.
