Feeling Anything but Blue

This really is the perfect dress for me. I love clothing that is feminine and what is more girly than ruffles and a bow! Another bonus is the elastic bottom, it majorly helps to avoid any wardrobe malfunctions! The gold zipper and buttons down the front add just the right amount of detailing to the dress. Because the dress has so many elements to it, it really needs little accessorizing. What I chose to do was to slip on a gold bracelet and ring because I wanted to dress it up a little for dinner. I also wore pearl and gold earings that matched the dress perfectly! The thing that I love the most about this dress is how transitional it can be. With fall right around the corner I have been trying to find pieces that can go from summer right into fall, without looking out-of-place. Both the color and style of the dress make it perfect for both seasons! For footwear I just slipped on a pair of simple gold sandals. I can’t wait to bring this dress to school with me!DSC_0970DSC_0991DSC_0997DSC_0992DSC_0995DSC_0986Dress: Solaris | Shoes: Sam Edelman

Hot Winter White

Today’s post needs little explanation.  This exceptional dress by Phoebe Couture is truly a special one.  The strapless style with a satin belted waist is so feminine and soft.  The layers of scalloped petals at the hem are a unique and eye catching detail.  This dress would be perfect for a Labor Day White Party, a summer or even early fall wedding.  It is an ivory color which will carry you safely past that Labor Day line, which has become very blurry anyways.  I paired this dress with a favorite pair of Valentino shoe with a great crystal bow accent, adding to the girly feel.  The only jewelry that was needed, if any, was a simple collection of David Yurman bracelets.  This look is classic yet not stuffy and is timeless in nature.  Dressing up is such fun!!!

Under the Boardwalk, Down by the Sea…….

The post for today needs as little explanation as it does preparation when getting ready! This is really just the perfect summer dress.  The black and white stripes and the easy strapless maxi dress are details that are the epitome of summer style.

I added some simple jewelry and was set for anything the day called for from day to night.  This look belongs in The Dummies Guide to Style, you can’t go wrong.

The Motion of the Ocean

The subject of today’s post is an outfit that just screams summer day with these blue and white shorts that remind me of the deep blue sea. I chose them for, yes, the color and I especially like the side zipper detail for a flat front look and I adore the scalloped hem on these shorts. These details dress up the shorts a bit. I paired them with a sleeveless cotton blouse and finished off the look with this fantastic fringed scarf. Scarves can be awesome in the summer too!! This one is such lightweight cotton. The white color is so crisp and the contrasting navy fringe makes this piece iconic summer in navy and white. I feel dressed up yet relaxed in this outfit that I pulled together from a combination of pieces that I purchased individually because I liked something about each one. They did not become an OOTD until they met in my closet :).

A White-Out in Summer

White is that perfect go to color (or lack of color) that is basically a perfect choice especially during the summer season. Today’s post highlights a fun dress made by Stylestalker. The sides have dual purpose cutouts that provide oodles of style and cool comfort on a hot summer day. The dress is well constructed with nude mesh above the bust area so the dress holds a beautiful shape and there is no fear of any wardrobe malfunctioning J.   You look just as good from the back in this dress as you do from the front. The extra long zipper detail is an added plus. I can’t say enough about the versatility of this great piece. Making another command performance are my summer favorite Steve Madden Wedges in nude patent. I accessorized with a wide white and yellow gold Judith Ripka bracelet and the 13mm crown ring with clear stone by King Baby. As with so many of the outfits I choose and pull together, this is one that would suit many occasions and would be spot on.

Blue Ivy

Today’s featured outfit is actually a matching skirt and top that could be perceived as a dress.  There are so many things I love about this outfit by Torn.  The fabric is so stretchy and comfortable, perfect for hitting up the candy store and the colors are so crisp.  The design of stripes is shaken up by the v pattern at the front and back of the skirt. The skirt is short and flouncy, giving a very relaxed yet pulled together feel.  I guess I am not the only one that finds this outfit very appealing, as the compliments I received while shooting this post (and shopping along the way) were numerous!  If you were to wear it out in the evening, you could easily add heels and a great wrap if it were a cool evening.  I carried my neutral Prada bag, as the color and pattern in the outfit are really what does the talking here.  I wore Chanel sandals for the power walking I intended to do in the short time I had to get some browsing (shopping) in.  This outfit is one of those that just makes you feel good when you are wearing it! DSC_0644DSC_0647DSC_0667DSC_0675DSC_0672DSC_0655Top: Torn by Ronny Kobo | Skirt: Torn by Ronny Kobo | BagPrada| Shoes: Chanel ( Purchased In Store at Saks)

Cute and Cultured

Unlucky turned to very lucky while visiting the Longhouse Reserve in East Hampton. While it was a planned stop on my trip to The Hamptons, it was very disappointing to pull in and discover that it was closed. While regrouping and thinking about our next move in the parking lot, a man walked up to our window. Due to this trustees kindness and insistence that we stay, we got to experience this exquisite 16 acre garden full of beautiful art and landscaping. (And, we had it all to ourselves!). On this particular day, it was excruciatingly hot. So of course, I had to plan my attire for a day that would be spent walking through the gardens. I decided on this casual long black dress by Indah. The oversized arm opening and double side slits made the heat more bearable. The cool 100% rayon fabric made the dress very light and airy, perfect for the heat. Underneath the dress, I slipped on a simple black bandeau to be sure to avoid any wardrobe malfunctions. I kept my accessories simple wearing a large turquoise cross ring that was purchased at a small boutique. I also added my Dior sunglasses that I had purchased while in the Bahamas. They are a limited edition and I love the pearl frames with the easy cat-eye shape and purple reflection lenses. I have yet to see them anywhere in the states. I love these glasses because no two pair is exactly the same. I pulled my hair up in an easy high ponytail to keep myself even cooler and I was ready for a day wandering through the most amazing art sculptures and gardens! I had no idea that this reserve would be as fabulous as it really was!

Young, Wild and Free

Today’s post is an example in being on trend, but making it your own. Overalls, overalls, overalls are all the rage. At first, I said I’d never wear them. They were for the farm. I was so wrong, I absolutely love them! We see a lot of combining trends and wearing overalls with crop tops, a cute look. Many pair them with tank tops for the summer, also cute! I chose to try my own thing and I really like the look and hope you will too. I am all about being yourself and being comfortable with whom you are. Buzz From the B has helped me gain confidence in this area and being able to share my ideas with you is a big part of that. I hope that you will try new things too! Today I paired my Hudson denim overalls with an ecru lace blouse from Joe Fresh and I love the look. It adds a very soft and sweet side to the rugged overalls. It dresses them up a bit and it is not (until maybe now) what you will see everyone in. So, while you might not be the only one wearing overalls, you will definitely stand apart from the others with a different take on the trend. I happened to be going out that evening, so I threw on my Steve Madden nude patent cork wedges. This was a look that was easily pulled off because of the dressier top. It was a perfect look to go for ice cream in a Dream Ride. That perhaps is the best accessory of the post today!

The Clouds Will be a Daisy Chain

I’m not sure how I’ve missed LF stores all this time. It took a trip to The Hamptons, a desperate need for cappuccino, and an open parking space directly in front of the store for me to discover it. While the store itself is a bit overwhelming and crammed with piles of clothes, I did like the vibe and eclectic assortment of clothing they carry. I especially loved these jeans that are like being in an endless field of daisies. They are really comfortable, have a button fly, a high waist and are just terrific. I paired them with a hooded cropped sweatshirt that I found at a small boutique at the beach in NJ. Although it is not your everyday sweatshirt, this darling top has lace sleeves that are so sweet and delicate. All this outfit needs is a simple pair of flip-flops and my new LF sunglasses in a John Lennon inspired style. Lastly, I added a really fun bracelet made of many glass beads and my outfit was complete!DSC_0840DSC_0854DSC_0853DSC_0857DSC_0832DSC_0845DSC_0837

Beneath the Brooklyn Bridge

When I saw the piece for today’s post, I knew immediately when and where I would be wearing it if it suited me as well as it did the hanger. Thank goodness, I think it did. When I put it on, I did not want to take it off……..ever! I felt like a princess.  This Alice and Olivia Gab Pleated Halter Jumpsuit is 100% polyester and flows beautifully.  The details are subtle, yet add to the awe at every turn.  The cut-out back closes with an exposed center zipper, so it is not to be missed.  I had no choice but to wear my hair up so the ‘T’ design was not covered. The bodice is made up of tiny soft pleating and adds another element of sophistication.  The only color this jumpsuit comes in is white, which is so fitting because it truly is so special.  This outfit is certainly deserving of one of my prized pair of shoes ( a match made in heaven!).  These shoes are like artwork and I only wear them for very special occasions, as I did on my 18th birthday.  The Louis Vuitton sandals are delicate and sleek.  When you look closely, you will find that the crystals form the designs in the logo that is LV. I added a crystal upper arm bracelet and wore a wide black Chanel cuff bursting with crystals in the Chanel logo.  I carried the Soho leather chain crossbody  Gucci bag in black.  The ensemble was perfect for the setting below the Brooklyn Bridge. It is magical as you watch constant boat traffic and the lights of the city come alive from the River Café in Dumbo.
