This simple dress is everything! Lightweight, comfortable, feminine, flirty, fit and flare, you name it! It is such a versatile piece and can be worn with everything from sneakers to heels. It is also a perfect transition piece from summer to fall. Just add a dark denim jacket or a leather jacket, even a flannel tied at the waist when the temperatures begin to drop. You will get great mileage from a piece like this. The Peter Pan collar and self-belt are two special details that add to the charm of this dress. It is a great length and the full skirt allows for easy movement. So, no matter what your plan for the day, the dress is sure to cooperate and catch a few second glances! Fun fact: Chambray dresses come in many styles and prices. Mine was purchased online after I saw it on Access Hollywood’s Steals and Deals type segment. It was quite a bargain and I absolutely love it. It has a schoolgirl vibe and is sure to be a favorite in your closet. Enjoy! Xo B
If you haven’t discovered the line of shoes put out by Ivanka Trump, you are missing out!! They are so comfortable and so well made. Best of all, they are so reasonably priced. These over the knee suede-look boots have been a staple in my wardrobe all winter and will carry into spring beautifully. The heel height is perfect and the zipper detail up the back make them attractive coming and going. For today’s post I’ve paired them with this black cashmere turtleneck sweater and a fun pleather rose gold skirt, also with a back zipper detail. The black opaque tights set the solid black landscape for the pop of color that the skirt provides. I kept the jewelry black as well with the chain/tassel necklace and the jet wrap bracelet, which is actually a necklace. Keeping the skirt the only additional color allows it to stand out with its great soft color and subtle metallic shimmer. This is such a great outfit as we go from winter to spring allowing enough warmth that a coat is not needed to hide this great ensemble. As things warm up, if they ever do, substitute the turtleneck with a t-shirt or short-sleeved sweater. This can go from business meeting to lunch or even dinner date. It is very comfortable so you can go all day and you don’t find yourself aching for that time to get home and throw on sweats!! This is a definite go-to outfit for a variety of occasions. The look can easily be recreated with similar pieces. Give it a try, have fun!
As a side note, I’m super excited to be running in my 1st half marathon in Central Park April 19th. It was just announced that Ivanka Trump is also be participating in the More Fitness Shape Women’s run as her 1st half marathon as well!! -Hope we make it!!!
The #OOTD for the post is one that is perfect for chillier weather! I combined two very current style trends and created an outfit that I love. The two trends are vests and the White Blouse, very popular at NYFW this year. You can’t go wrong with a simple white blouse. It dresses up any outfit and is a crisp, clean look. I paired mine with this heavy duty, super cool grey vest. It is thick and warm, the long look is tres-chic and it is so simple yet packs a powerful punch. The creative details such as the high neck closure (which can be done or left undone- equally great) and the simple single button closure at the waist are all this piece needs. I am a big fan of the equally simplistic, yet elegant, Kisselstein Cord black handbag with gold hardware, including the adorable labrador front and center. I wore black suede over the knee boots with black leggings and popped on a beautiful, chunky turquoise bracelet for color. In my hair I wore a crystal headband from Henri Bendel, a gift from a special friend that I adore. I hope this outfit calls to you as it does to me!! xo B
As fall is approaching and the school year has begun, I have been keeping my eye out for transitional pieces. Although these darling pink striped shorts with side zippers are a typical summer item, they can easily be worn into fall simply by making a few adjustments! To make these shorts work for fall all I did was add a long sleeve crop sweater from American Apparel. The long sleeves and color make it perfect for fall, while the crop look is still a little bit summery. I accessorized by adding a Henri Bendel long necklace with a light pink pig charm. The necklace works with my color scheme and adds a little bit of fun to the outfit. I paired it with a black Hermes bracelet consisting of gold accents. For my bag, I carried a black Kieselstein Cord purse with gold hardware. The closure has an alligator detail. It is a very classic bag which also assists creating a look that is more geared towards the fall. For shoes I wore my Ferragamo open-toed pumps, which are also black with gold accents. These shoes are an awesome transitional shoe because black can be worn at any time of year, but the open toe is also a summer essential. I put a simple black headband in to complete the look and I was ready to go out for the day!
