I was not going to let the cold stand between me and my Momofuku. On this chilly day I knew I was going to need to bundle up to make the trek down to SoHo. I started by putting on a basic black turtleneck. This is a wardrobe staple. I practically lived in turtle necks the entire month of december. They keep you cozy and can be worn with absolutely anything. This one is made by Splendid, but I am also a fan of the Bloomingdale’s Cashmere. I paired it with some distressed denim that has flannel patches underneath the rips. It was a good start but I was certainly going to need more. That is when I spotted my Aqua camo vest. I am an avid lover of this pattern because it is a little bit more unique. Instead of using the traditional green hues, this vest is made up of grey, black and white tones. Best yet–it has a hood! I was getting closer to completing my outfit but it was still not quite there yet. I grabbed my oversized grey cashmere scarf and a matching head wrap. It could not have worked more perfectly! The head-wrap, adorned with a bow of course, could not be more perfect. Fabulous and Functional! I wore some super fuzzy socks to keep my toes warm and continued to stuff my feet into my black Timberland boots. I was ready to brave the cold and determined to get my cereal milk soft serve… Let me tell you it was so worth it!
With the winter weather still upon the first thought going through everyone’s mind when getting ready for the day is how to dress as cozy as possible. In the colder months people have the tendency to sacrifice style for their (much-needed) warmth and comfort, but this does not have to be the case! It is still possible to mix some of the latest trends into your comfy and casual outfit. One of my favorite current trends is patterns and mixing patterns. Patterned leggings have been spotted all over the place and are an easy way to bring an element of fun into your wardrobe. They are a necessity for everyone’s closet! I paired these grey and white polka dot leggings with one of my all time favorite flannels from LF. I am a huge fan of flannels because… well who isn’t?! They are so effortless and versatile, you can dress them up or down. This particular one I have been coveting for a very long time. The second I saw it on an LF instagram post I knew that it had to be mine. I rushed over to the store in SoHo, but by the time I had gotten there they were sold out. I guess they were a must have for everyone! I was beyond excited when one of the girls called me and told me they were back in. I wasn’t missing out this time! I have gotten so much use out of it since then. I paired my outfit with a pair of white North Face snow boots, my Burberry winter jacket and last but definitely not least my favorite pair of Dior ” So Real” sunglasses (which are currently all the rage). I was cozy and comfy all day, but I definitely did not sacrifice style!
One of my favorite things to do on an extremely cold day is to take a walk through Chelsea Market. It is fantastic indoor place in NYC to spend some free time because there is just so much to do! From cupcakes and gelato to Sarahbeth’s and sushi, there are such a variety of places to stop in for a quick treat or meal while doing some shopping and exploring! I couldn’t decide on a treat, so we stopped in for cupcakes Ruthy’s Bakery and some mini doughnuts at the Doughnuttery! Ruthy’s Bakery had so many beautiful cupcake, cake and pastry options that it was so hard to decide on one, but in the end I went with a Zoe cupcake from sesame street. Who doesn’t love returning to their childhood whenever they can, especially when it comes to sugary treats!?! For this particularly cold day I threw on my most comfortable 7 jeans and two of my christmas gifts, a Coco Chanel emblazoned sweatshirt and my Chanel Boy bag. I am currently obsessing over the color of this bag because it is neutral, yet a fun pop of color. I also wore Timberland black boots. I have never considered myself to be a hat person, but because of the chilling weather I put one on and now I am never looking back! I love this knit white and purple hat and the fur pom-pom is just the icing on the cake! It is made by The 2 Mad Hatter and is one of Oprah’s favorites as well! It kept me warm all day as well as acting as an adorable accessory! Functional and Fashionable!
Camo isn’t just for hunting anymore! I am currently obsessing over all and everything camo. For a day out strolling along the High Line in the West Village I decided to pull out my camo pants from Guess. They are spot on because the pants themselves are a lighter hunter green and the print is so subtle and blends perfectly. I also die over the gold ankle zipper which perfectly matches the gold studs on my Valentino rockstud flats. I decided to throw on one of my favorite white silk blouses from Equipment ( I have one in almost every color). They are so light and easy to throw on with any pair of pants or skirt! A good white blouse is a major wardrobe essential and they can easily pull together just about any outfit. Because it was going to be a little chillier on the water I pulled on my TSE Cashmere sweater over my blouse and it still looks just as good! To complete my outfit I wore a pair of Celine sunglasses that I purchased at one of my favorite stores Jeffrey Atlanta New York (which is located right underneath the High Line, of course I popped in afterwards). I grabbed my leather Hunter tote and was ready to take on the day!

Today is a very special day in that we are celebrating the birth of one of my all-time favorite shoe designers Mr. Christian Louboutin! Louboutin brought stilettos back into high fashion during the 1990s, designing shoes with a variety of heel heights and styles. Who else but Christian Louboutin could design such a variety of shoes from the classic black pumps to edgy, over the top shoes adorned with crystals and spikes. It is impossible to miss spotting a red bottom while strolling through high-end department stores such as Neiman Marcus, Saks, Barneys, or Bergdorfs. He has truly set the bar in the world of shoe design. Lets give a huge Hallelujah and Happy Birthday to the man who has forever changed the world of shoes! Here are some personal favorites of his creations!

Being cozy doesn’t have to mean a great pair of baggy sweats or leggings. Sweaters can be the ultimate in cozy. They have to have the right fit and feel and when they do, it can be like wearing a big hug all day or night. I am all about being comfy and cozy, without looking too casual. Today’s outfit is a perfect example of that. This amazing sweater from LF has it all and I do mean all!! It is super soft and comfy and has so many details that add to it’s perfection. The relaxed turtleneck keeps you warm but is not constricting and the hi-low hem of this is so on point with today’s trend. I paired the sweater with the most fabulous pair of Carmar Denim jeans that I had to be coaxed into trying on. I was not at all sure about the boot cut hem, however, the girls at LF were 100% correct- these jeans are heaven with a little bit of stretch, a touch of distress, a simple cut and great length. These jeans can easily go from day to night. I wore them with a simple pair of black suede wedge ankle boots that I purchased at H H&M for a steal! Grabbing my bag of the moment (Celine) and throwing on some of my favorite jewelry, I was ready to hit the streets of SoHo. It was a productive day of shopping, sightseeing and lunching at my fave- The Dutch! A perfect day in what I think is a perfect outfit!! xo B
Yes, they are!!! Feeling a bit like Kate and Wills might be following in my footsteps while heading to The Carlyle this weekend! It was there that I did a photo shoot for today’s blog post. I think my wardrobe choice is spot on and perhaps Kate might agree! This vintage Chanel suit is a classic in pastel colors including mint green, pink, and yellow. The jacket has ¾ sleeves and is adorned with brass buttons that are decorated with the Chanel logo and cherubs. The jacket has removable silk cuffs in mint green and pockets detailing on the sides. The simple skirt has a double button closure at the waistband and is an elegant wrap style. This is truly my dream Chanel suit. It is youthful both in style and color. These suits are not just for the more mature Grande Dames of the Upper East Side! As a side note, several passed as we were shooting and stopped to chat. They had great appreciation for my OOTD! (Certainly not using the acronym!) Having a little fun, not wanting to wear a fascinator (I am certain I could not pull that one off), I found the perfect headband at Zitomer on Madison Ave. It is possibly the best pharmacy in the land and across the pond! This perfect, pink headband with a large side bow is just the look I wanted. It is dressier than a headband and not as dramatic as a fascinator! I will leave that one to Her Majesty. I carried a vintage, oversized, crocodile, fold-over clutch in dark green and chose a pair of classic nude pumps. In Honor of The Royals visit, I hope you enjoy today’s post!! XO, B
The #OOTD for the post is one that is perfect for chillier weather! I combined two very current style trends and created an outfit that I love. The two trends are vests and the White Blouse, very popular at NYFW this year. You can’t go wrong with a simple white blouse. It dresses up any outfit and is a crisp, clean look. I paired mine with this heavy duty, super cool grey vest. It is thick and warm, the long look is tres-chic and it is so simple yet packs a powerful punch. The creative details such as the high neck closure (which can be done or left undone- equally great) and the simple single button closure at the waist are all this piece needs. I am a big fan of the equally simplistic, yet elegant, Kisselstein Cord black handbag with gold hardware, including the adorable labrador front and center. I wore black suede over the knee boots with black leggings and popped on a beautiful, chunky turquoise bracelet for color. In my hair I wore a crystal headband from Henri Bendel, a gift from a special friend that I adore. I hope this outfit calls to you as it does to me!! xo B
“The Statue of Liberty says, Come!”- and I do! I adore everything NYC. The eclectic style and freedom to dress as you feel on any given day is like no other in the city! For today’s post, I chose to dress with a casual, laid back, funky and fun vibe. This outfit incorporates several of my favorite things starting today from the bottom. These pink- studded Doc Marten’s are attention- getters for sure! They are a bubblegum shade of my favorite color, pink and are monochromatically studded with a little Valentino flair (who could ask for more?). They are extremely comfortable and can be worn with skirts, dresses, pants, shorts, whatever you desire. The pants today are a favorite brand with the zipper accents that I am very fond of this season. The pocket detailing is another selling point on these pants. They have a little cool, moto feel. This season and every season, cashmere is where it’s at. I chose to top these pants with a very plain, pink v-neck cashmere sweater and wore a simple white t-shirt that is barely visible, but adds a layer. I added a fun baseball cap along with some pink, Wildfox sunglasses that are the bomb. I was ready for a fun, adventurous day in the city and felt really comfy, yet very pulled together and neat. “Life is Too Short to Wear Boring Clothes.” Xo B
A love of fine fashion can be very expensive to say the least. For quite sometime I have taken advantage of the discount website Gilt.com. They have very current fashion at a deep discount. Several of my favorite statement pieces have been purchased on Gilt, guilt-free. (That really should be their slogan if you ask this little fashion blogger :).) I am crazy about the centerpiece for today’s ootp (outfit of the post) purchased at gilt.com. The pink skirt, heavily embroidered in cream stitching, is a standout piece that is gorgeous and more importantly, so comfortable to wear. It has a bit of stretch and doesn’t pinch at all. The gorgeous pink color is rich enough to easily go into fall/winter and the choices for a top pairing are numerous. I chose a simple cream silk blouse. A denim jacket, black leather jacket or a long sweater could easily be added for warmth and all would look equally stylish. Sometimes there is nothing like walking down the street and just feeling really good about what you are wearing. This was one of those outfits, as I’m not going to lie, I caught some looks in and around the TriBeCa park where we shot this post. I’m a little shy, but honestly, it felt darn good! A little confidence booster never hurts the self-esteem and is a fabulous accessory! My Valentino rock stud shoes in nude were my shoes of choice. These are the most comfortable heels ever. I can traipse the city for hours in these and never wish I’d worn flats! My dream is to own these in a few more colors! Dare to dream!!! Xo B
