Strapless in November

……or any other time!! There is something about strapless, it can make you feel confident, pretty, fashionable, dressy and so much more.  The style that was once a special detail for formal dresses is now found throughout a wardrobe in tops, dresses and as in today’s post- a romper.  Since strapless is all that, why save it for those warm times of the year? I’m not!!! This full length, hot pink romper will be worn by me whenever I feel like wearing it.  I just added a black leather jacket for this time of year. For an evening out, a cashmere sweater or wrap would work wonders as well, even a great blazer would be fab.  For this shoot, I was at one of my very favorite places, SIXTY Soho, formerly 60 Thompson.  The rooftop bar has wonderful views of this great city, I absolutely adore this place. 🙂  Back to the outfit….. I added a very unique and really awesome body chain with this romper and I can’t tell you how much I love the look! It adds a little edge of some sort – dressy? maybe even a little sexy?!? IDK whatever it is, I was very pleased by the results of its addition to my outfit! The shoes were a favorite go to pair of Alice and Olivia’s and I’ve been hearing that the readers like them too.  They really have a rock star look.  This is a perfect evening outfit, but can work for a special day out as well.  As with the body chain, don’t be afraid to be daring when accessorizing.  You will know the moment you try something out whether it is a bust or a hit. If it’s a bust, at least you tried ( as is true with so many things in life) and if it’s a hit what a bonus for you!! Be Brave, Be Daring!  xo B

Grey = Dreary?………Not!

The #OOTD for the post is one that is perfect for chillier weather! I combined two very current style trends and created an outfit that I love.  The two trends are vests and the White Blouse, very popular at NYFW this year.  You can’t go wrong with a simple white blouse.  It dresses up any outfit and is a crisp, clean look.  I paired mine with this heavy duty, super cool grey vest.  It is thick and warm, the long look is tres-chic and it is so simple yet packs a powerful punch.  The creative details such as the high neck closure (which can be done or left undone- equally great) and the simple single button closure at the waist are all this piece needs.  I am a big fan of the equally simplistic, yet elegant, Kisselstein Cord black handbag with gold hardware, including the adorable labrador front and center. I wore black suede over the knee boots with black leggings and popped on a beautiful, chunky turquoise bracelet for color.  In my hair I wore a crystal headband from Henri Bendel, a gift from a special friend that I adore. I hope this outfit calls to you as it does to me!! xo B

Unleash a Little Animal Instinct

Experimenting with Denim is all the rage from waxing to tie-dye spraying and everything in between, 5 pocket pants are hitting all stages. For the Post today, I chose an animal print in a classic black and white, which is stepping out of the box for me. J I must say: I love this look. It is so simple to wear and prepare! Who could ask for more? This is one of those outfits that can be worn during the day with flats and in the evening with heels and it looks equally fly either way. I’m a big fan and it is such fun to change it up sometimes and it feels good too!! To set this black top and animal print pants apart and to add a little pizzazz, I chose to add my cherry red leather jacket. It was a perfect choice. This outfit is suitable for either evening or day time. The beauty of an outfit like this is that you can find similar pieces and re create the look at varying price points. I know I have expensive taste and I often believe you get what you pay for, but if you look- you can find some great pieces at lower price points. If I recall correctly, my cherry red leather jacket, $39.99, sssshhhhh! I wish I could say the same about the entire outfit, but you can pick and choose your pieces wisely. Good Luck! Xo B

Some Time in New York City

“The Statue of Liberty says, Come!”- and I do! I adore everything NYC. The eclectic style and freedom to dress as you feel on any given day is like no other in the city! For today’s post, I chose to dress with a casual, laid back, funky and fun vibe. This outfit incorporates several of my favorite things starting today from the bottom. These pink- studded Doc Marten’s are attention- getters for sure! They are a bubblegum shade of my favorite color, pink and are monochromatically studded with a little Valentino flair (who could ask for more?). They are extremely comfortable and can be worn with skirts, dresses, pants, shorts, whatever you desire. The pants today are a favorite brand with the zipper accents that I am very fond of this season. The pocket detailing is another selling point on these pants. They have a little cool, moto feel. This season and every season, cashmere is where it’s at. I chose to top these pants with a very plain, pink v-neck cashmere sweater and wore a simple white t-shirt that is barely visible, but adds a layer. I added a fun baseball cap along with some pink, Wildfox sunglasses that are the bomb. I was ready for a fun, adventurous day in the city and felt really comfy, yet very pulled together and neat.   “Life is Too Short to Wear Boring Clothes.” Xo B
