As Marc Jacobs once said, “I Don’t think there is Ever a Wrong Time For a Polka Dot”.
And neither do I. Young and old alike can find the perfect spot (pun intended) in their outfit for polka dots. They are happy, fun and super stylish. For today’s post I chose this great grey and black polka dotted skirt. It is really comfortable, almost like a cozy sweatshirt. I adore the large ruffle at the bottom, as it is a bit swingy when you walk. The black solid long sleeved sweater is equally cozy, yet the outfit looks very pulled together. I am as comfortable in this outfit as I am in well-worn sweats but look far from sloppy or super casual. I chose to wear the high socks with this outfit. I adore them and you will be seeing them this fall and winter. They are a great alternative to the ever-popular black opaque tights. The socks of choice today have a little touch of lace trim at the top (for an added touch of girly). As I was dressed for a fun day in NYC, I wore by suede Prada high-top sneakers, but could have easily chosen an ankle booty or flat as well. I love outfits like these and hope you do too! xo B
The photo shoot for today’s post took place at The Standard Hotel in the West Village. I highly recommend a visit if you haven’t been already and look at this view- The river-not me! I chose a special outfit for this awesome location. The main attraction of the outfit I’m wearing is the vintage velvet; yes velvet, Emilio Pucci mini skirt. There isn’t much not to like about this skirt from the velvet fabric to the colorful geometric print. It is fun and fancy all in one! I wore my black patent red bottoms (well worn, red bottoms) and chose a black bustier style peplum top. With this outfit, I did a quick, simple, sleek ponytail to highlight the strapless top that has great detail. This ensemble needs very little in the way of accessories, so I kept my jewelry simple with the Cartier LOVE bracelet, my diamond cross and a simple, but stunning ‘X’ ring in pink crystals from Alex Mica Jewelry (it’s a favorite). The Standard Hotel has a really cool vibe and I think this outfit does as well!! Xo B

As Sara Bareilles song tells us, we can do anything with a little black dress on.
This LBD in particular is really great. With its drop waist style, it flows and moves with you. I love a long sleeved mini dress and this one is great! The added detail of the white cuffs on each sleeves catches the eye and the simplicity of the dress allows you to accessorize as much or as little as you choose. For a day in the city, I chose some fun, leopard print flats with a beaded pompon on the toe. I carried a large unconstructed Chanel bag and wore a precious, silk, double banded headband with tiny bows on each section. The neckline is so simple and I wore my everyday diamond cross and nothing else. This is one of those perfect outfits that can take you from day to night and you can’t help but feel good in it. On this particular day, I was hanging out in Tribeca at the Tribeca Grand. I thoroughly enjoyed the art exhibited throughout the lobby by Peter Tunney. The surfer in me loved the surfboard art because, yes, it does take courage as so many things in life do. Including beginning a fashion blog. xo B!
Favorite place? Check! Favorite sculpture? Check! Favorite outfit? Check! Nothing is better than having everything I love in one place. Central Park is one of my favorite places in the entire world, so there was no better way to spend some free time in my busy afternoon than watching the sail boats and relaxing (in one of my favorite outfits none the less!). I put this together by beginning with this striped skirt made by Aqua. The banded waist, box pleats and textured scalloped stripes are all perfection. This is the perfect piece to build a simple outfit around. I decided to pair my skirt with a long-sleeved cropped sweater which I bought at American Apparel. This sweater is one my go to basic items. It transitioned perfectly from summer into fall due to the light material, sleeve length and color. For my shoes, I chose one of my most classic pair, black Louboutins. They are such a staple item because I have been able to wear them anywhere from a casual lunch to a black tie gala! I felt like this outfit needed a pop of color so I carried my bright red Gucci Soho chain shoulder bag (which perfectly coordinated with my red soles)! All in all it was a very successful afternoon spent with just a few of my favorite things!
Love, one of life’s greatest blessings, is featured today on, of all places, my shoes!!!
This post has so much to like I don’t know where to begin. Ok, I will start from the top. An important fall staple is the jean jacket, it comes in all styles and colors and you should find the one (or two) that suit you best. Today’s choice is a lighter shade, classic style. You can wear this type of jacket over almost anything! It is great over a dress, t-shirt, sweater- you name it. I chose to wear this over a simple white t-shirt which I paired with a favorite skirt. Favorite color, favorite textile and favorite details, all in one little skirt. More easily put, it is a perfect pink, leather skirt with all around baby pleating, a dream come true. It can be dressed up or down and worn almost throughout the year. And now for the shoes…….. Love, Love, Love- literally. These darling pink suede flats say it all – in pearls no less, LOVE. They are an important daily reminder to love and be loved. We all have so much to be thankful for, sometimes we forget or life throws us a curveball, but it is so important to always remember!!! xo

Today’s post features one of the best style details out there. When the outfit looks as good when you approach to say, “Hello” as it does when you turn to say, “Goodbye”, you’ve got a winner! Such is the case with today’s Ted Baker romper. It caught my eye because of the bright orange color and flattering, simple style with the Jackie-O-esque collar. It is so feminine and easy (maybe even a little sexy?!). Rompers are where it’s at! The three-quarter length sleeves and color make it a perfect transitional piece from summer to fall. As far as I was concerned, it was a winner at first glance! But then…. I saw the back detailing and it was like falling in love all over again!! This is where you might even look better saying goodbye and walking away. Because of the low crossover detail, I had some fun and wore my necklace backwards down my back. It is a special piece that was given to me several months ago that reads, “Happiness”. When you wear the mantra daily, it serves as a constant reminder that, no matter what, there is always something to be happy about! With this rather simple and plain (yet, anything but boring!) outfit, I pulled out my Favorite shoes. These Louis Vuitton peep toes with double straps that close with big gold buttons on the sides are truly spectacular. I adore them and they work to perfection with this outfit. I carried a little Christian Dior canvas monogram bag and wore a collection of some of my Hermes H bracelets . So, You say Goodbye and I say Hello…. Hello, Hello because no matter, This looks great either way!!
Today’s post comes to you straight from the Brooklyn Bridge. In several books, walking over this bridge is a bucket list item. So, I can check it off my list and I am so glad I did it! It truly is beautiful and the variety of people you meet is fascinating! I would definitely do it again. For this shoot, I chose a bit of an edgy outfit- one that I absolutely love (as did soo many of the people on the bridge!) I chose an oversized Elizabeth and James blue linen blouse with a contrasting white collar to go with my new patched denims. The shirt is very plain, yet has a bit of casual elegance which is perfect for the jeans that steal the show. These jeans were custom done and I know we will be seeing more of the patches in the near future. I wore my studded black flats with this outfit and felt like a million bucks! Jay-z would approve, I’m sure….Bey would too!! This outfit can really take me anywhere. Barclays Center for a concert, check! Grimaldi’s for pizza with friends, check! Shake Shack, double check!! A fall stroll through Brooklyn Bridge Park, check! My Nets home opener, you bet! I love outfits like this and hope you do too! Have a great weekend!!xo
Last night, I was in NYC to attend my first ever New York Fashion Week event, yes, little ole me!! While it was not Yves Saint Laurent, Valentino or Chanel (I will be there one day <3), this was a quaint show that took place at Stitch Bar and Lounge on 37th St. A newer designer was unveiling her line of little black dresses. It was a fun, intimate vibe and I was so happy to be invited!! For my NYFW debut, I chose to wear my new go to favorite- Torn by Ronny Kobo. I’ve said it before, the fabric, the prints, the look and the comfort level are all details that cannot be ignored. This American designer gets it and so do I! I chose this darling dress because while it is simple, the print is fun and young and the style is as well. Don’t be shocked; there are even little shoulder pads in this dress. I was like – what the heck????? My mom said…they used to be in everything, they must be coming back! No matter, they just gave the edge of the shoulder a little lift and I adore this dress! To accessorize, I wore my fabulous black and rhinestone Chanel cuff and Chanel crystal logo earrings and that was it. I carried the black Soho bag by Gucci. My shoes were a new find, my first pair of Alice and Olivia shoes. These are my new love. Drixa, these black, studded, strappy heels are really magnificent with a 3-button closure on the outside. Honestly, I love my shoes and the price point of these, while still expensive, they are not exorbitant, yet I felt like they were priceless (and really comfortable too!)!! I finished off the night with a quick pop in to Pinkberry and it was a success.
The one thing that every girl must own is the perfect black dress. One would think this would not be such a difficult task because there are a million to choose from. Well… for those who think that you could not be more wrong. It is nearly impossible to find the perfect one, so when I found this one at Club Monaco I thought that I had hit the jackpot. The best thing about one of these must have dresses is that you can so easily tie it in to any occasion. You can dress them up or down and every time you wear it, it can look different based upon the accessories that you have chosen. I love feminine girl clothing (as you may have noticed) so this dress is perfect for me. The oversize bow in the back adds an element of femininity to the otherwise simple dress. It can also be worn in just about any season because black is such a universal color. The polyester blended fabric is light and flowly, so it was perfect for this summer evening dinner at Nick and Toni’s. I added my black Louboutins dress up the look, along with a sterling silver cuff and pair of large pearl earrings. Dress: Club Monaco | Shoes: Christian Louboutin (Similar Here)
LongHouse Reserve in East Hampton was the location for the photo shoot for today’s post. It truly is majestic, tranquil and not to be missed!! In this elegant sculpture garden and art museum, I felt so at peace, yet energized, as I strolled through the 16 acre property. The OOTD is an extremely comfortable two piece outfit in black and white. It is such a versatile ensemble and with a cashmere wrap or long flowing sweater, this can easily go well in to fall. A simple black flat works just as well as a strappy heel for this duo. This is close to a perfect outfit (if there is such a thing). There is no, “What should I wear with this?” It’s ease puts the exclamation point on the perfection. I chose my over-sized Chanel sunglasses to go with the beautiful day. I couldn’t have been more comfortable during the time spent at the reserve and still felt like I looked good enough for my dinner reservation at Serafina! ……..which was so fortunate because I think I failed to mention the super stretchy fabric!! Perfect for a big dinner out!
