Today’s featured outfit is actually a matching skirt and top that could be perceived as a dress. There are so many things I love about this outfit by Torn. The fabric is so stretchy and comfortable, perfect for hitting up the candy store and the colors are so crisp. The design of stripes is shaken up by the v pattern at the front and back of the skirt. The skirt is short and flouncy, giving a very relaxed yet pulled together feel. I guess I am not the only one that finds this outfit very appealing, as the compliments I received while shooting this post (and shopping along the way) were numerous! If you were to wear it out in the evening, you could easily add heels and a great wrap if it were a cool evening. I carried my neutral Prada bag, as the color and pattern in the outfit are really what does the talking here. I wore Chanel sandals for the power walking I intended to do in the short time I had to get some browsing (shopping) in. This outfit is one of those that just makes you feel good when you are wearing it! Top: Torn by Ronny Kobo | Skirt: Torn by Ronny Kobo | Bag: Prada| Shoes: Chanel ( Purchased In Store at Saks)
Unlucky turned to very lucky while visiting the Longhouse Reserve in East Hampton. While it was a planned stop on my trip to The Hamptons, it was very disappointing to pull in and discover that it was closed. While regrouping and thinking about our next move in the parking lot, a man walked up to our window. Due to this trustees kindness and insistence that we stay, we got to experience this exquisite 16 acre garden full of beautiful art and landscaping. (And, we had it all to ourselves!). On this particular day, it was excruciatingly hot. So of course, I had to plan my attire for a day that would be spent walking through the gardens. I decided on this casual long black dress by Indah. The oversized arm opening and double side slits made the heat more bearable. The cool 100% rayon fabric made the dress very light and airy, perfect for the heat. Underneath the dress, I slipped on a simple black bandeau to be sure to avoid any wardrobe malfunctions. I kept my accessories simple wearing a large turquoise cross ring that was purchased at a small boutique. I also added my Dior sunglasses that I had purchased while in the Bahamas. They are a limited edition and I love the pearl frames with the easy cat-eye shape and purple reflection lenses. I have yet to see them anywhere in the states. I love these glasses because no two pair is exactly the same. I pulled my hair up in an easy high ponytail to keep myself even cooler and I was ready for a day wandering through the most amazing art sculptures and gardens! I had no idea that this reserve would be as fabulous as it really was!
Today’s post is an example in being on trend, but making it your own. Overalls, overalls, overalls are all the rage. At first, I said I’d never wear them. They were for the farm. I was so wrong, I absolutely love them! We see a lot of combining trends and wearing overalls with crop tops, a cute look. Many pair them with tank tops for the summer, also cute! I chose to try my own thing and I really like the look and hope you will too. I am all about being yourself and being comfortable with whom you are. Buzz From the B has helped me gain confidence in this area and being able to share my ideas with you is a big part of that. I hope that you will try new things too! Today I paired my Hudson denim overalls with an ecru lace blouse from Joe Fresh and I love the look. It adds a very soft and sweet side to the rugged overalls. It dresses them up a bit and it is not (until maybe now) what you will see everyone in. So, while you might not be the only one wearing overalls, you will definitely stand apart from the others with a different take on the trend. I happened to be going out that evening, so I threw on my Steve Madden nude patent cork wedges. This was a look that was easily pulled off because of the dressier top. It was a perfect look to go for ice cream in a Dream Ride. That perhaps is the best accessory of the post today!

Sometimes going to the beach isn’t as simple as throwing on your bathing suit and popping out the back door to hit the surf. Some beaches have a vibe or a scene where you need to look a bit more pulled together. The old beach towel over your shoulder just won’t do. Maybe you will be grabbing a bite to eat or even a drink at sunset. Today’s outfit it very easy to wear and requires very little, but looks really great! I am wearing a classic style bikini from A. Che. It is a solid hot pink suit with gold accents at the bust and on the ties. The bottoms have a ruching detail on the seat. The solid hot pink is a perfect choice to be worn under this poncho style cover up in bright, happy colors with a playful pink pom pom trim. This Piece from Mud Pie has plenty of coverage, yet is still beachy and cool. Best of all, this poncho can be thrown in your bag and it looks just as good as when you originally put it on. I wore a whimsical straw sun hat by San Diego Hat Co. that I picked up at Chelsea Market in NYC. (a fun fact about my hat- it is made of 75% paper and 25% polyester) I just love it!! I brought along my nude patent and cork wedges incase I came along a sign that read, “No Shirt, No Shoes, No Service. The sun was high and my spirits higher as I visited Main Beach in East Hampton for this post. Lucky Me!! Happy Weekend and I hope you find some time to relax in the sand.
I’m not sure how I’ve missed LF stores all this time. It took a trip to The Hamptons, a desperate need for cappuccino, and an open parking space directly in front of the store for me to discover it. While the store itself is a bit overwhelming and crammed with piles of clothes, I did like the vibe and eclectic assortment of clothing they carry. I especially loved these jeans that are like being in an endless field of daisies. They are really comfortable, have a button fly, a high waist and are just terrific. I paired them with a hooded cropped sweatshirt that I found at a small boutique at the beach in NJ. Although it is not your everyday sweatshirt, this darling top has lace sleeves that are so sweet and delicate. All this outfit needs is a simple pair of flip-flops and my new LF sunglasses in a John Lennon inspired style. Lastly, I added a really fun bracelet made of many glass beads and my outfit was complete!

I just love to find a perfect outfit! One that needs little accessorizing, is comfortable, looks great (stating the obvious) and can take you to a variety of places. A surprise or unique detail in that outfit is a terrific bonus. This romper by Ark and Co. has all that. It is so easy to wear, the sleeves make it perfect to wear day in to a cooler evening and it is a flattering cut. The bonus detail to this outfit is the heavily embroidered bouquet of flowers that cascades from each shoulder. This is such a great thought that makes this so different from a simple solid black romper. The embroidery itself is enough accessorizing if you just need to pull it on and go. It is not so over powering though, so if you are feeling like throwing on a long necklace or a few bracelets, you will still look great and it will not be too much. I added Again with this piece, I had my choice of shoe style depending on where I was going. I wore a simple pair of Ferragamo sandals. I also carried a House of Harlow bag. It is big enough to fit a phone and lip gloss and a few other necessities. It isis the perfect size! What girl wouldn’t love an outfit that comes with not one, but two bouquets of flowers!!!!

Yes, leather on a summer day, why not?! I adore leather and today I am wearing all leather. This outfit is perfect for a quick trip into the city to see friends. It is comfortable and can be worn from a mid-day café stop into the evening. The leather sleeveless vest by Better B, is being worn as a shirt and is paired with an all around pleated leather skirt in bone that has an easy elastic waist, perfect for an extra croissant at the café or maybe some gelato later in the day. It is made by Parker. The studded black leather Sam Edelman sandals work well in tandem with the biker/rocker feel of the vest. I’ve worn some of my favorite silver jewelry, including a three-inch wide fluid silver bracelet paired with a sterling bracelet that was my great grandmother’s. I am wearing my Hoorsenbuhs multi finger chain ring in sterling as well. I chose some large silver hoop earrings and have loosely pulled back my hair for the warm summer day/evening in the city.
One thing that always seems to be a struggle when going on an evening boat outing is the decision of what to wear. (struggle…..not a hardship :)) Now, this is a much more difficult task than one would think due to competing factors of the breeze and sun. I immediately knew that a dress was out of the question so there was to be no wardrobe malfunction. I also nixed the idea of pants because we were bound to get splashed and nobody wants to be sitting around in damp, heavy pants. Since the dress was out, a skirt was bound to be as well. I began by choosing a shirt. I found the perfect one. I saw it while on my daily Starbucks run one morning in the window of Banana Republic and knew I had to go in. It was the perfect shirt for the occasion because it is linen and long-sleeved, light yet warm. Stripes are a new thing for me, but the width of these blue and white stripes were spot on. Now on to the shorts, I decided on longer white shorts. These shorts worked well because they are not your typical short shorts. The longer length helped me stay a little bit warmer, while still staying fashionable. To pull the look together I added my authentic Hermes Constance Belt in blue and H buckle in a high polish finish. With that, there was very little accessorizing left to do. I simply used a ribbon as a head band to hold my hair out of my face, and a dark red ring to compliment the beach bag that I added. The bag gave a pop of color, was very functional and coordinated well. The bag is made by Mud Pie (this company also makes darling beach attire). I wore my Tory Burch sunglasses with a gold frame wrapped in orange leather. Because boats have strict rules with regard to shoes, I decided to go barefoot!

When I saw the piece for today’s post, I knew immediately when and where I would be wearing it if it suited me as well as it did the hanger. Thank goodness, I think it did. When I put it on, I did not want to take it off……..ever! I felt like a princess. This Alice and Olivia Gab Pleated Halter Jumpsuit is 100% polyester and flows beautifully. The details are subtle, yet add to the awe at every turn. The cut-out back closes with an exposed center zipper, so it is not to be missed. I had no choice but to wear my hair up so the ‘T’ design was not covered. The bodice is made up of tiny soft pleating and adds another element of sophistication. The only color this jumpsuit comes in is white, which is so fitting because it truly is so special. This outfit is certainly deserving of one of my prized pair of shoes ( a match made in heaven!). These shoes are like artwork and I only wear them for very special occasions, as I did on my 18th birthday. The Louis Vuitton sandals are delicate and sleek. When you look closely, you will find that the crystals form the designs in the logo that is LV. I added a crystal upper arm bracelet and wore a wide black Chanel cuff bursting with crystals in the Chanel logo. I carried the Soho leather chain crossbody Gucci bag in black. The ensemble was perfect for the setting below the Brooklyn Bridge. It is magical as you watch constant boat traffic and the lights of the city come alive from the River Café in Dumbo.
Today’s look is a bit funky and fun. I wanted an easy and comfortable look for an afternoon of lunch and shopping at the mall. I was on a mission for the perfect birthday gift for my mom, so I chose ultra comfy and very happening Prada suede high-top sneakers in black. It was a maiden voyage for these, so the Mall at Short Hills was a perfect destination. I knew I would be doing a fair share of power walking and these shoes did not disappoint. Nor did I feel like I sacrificed looks for comfort in the footwear department! You may be seeing a lot more of these in future posts. My dress is a short sleeve shift in a simple black and white houndstooth. It is very light for a summer day and was a great deal on Gilt.com, which is a site where I LOVE to shop. If you don’t yet, do yourself a favor, you can thank me later. The dress is made by The Letter, and has a great little surprise detail of leather piping at the collar to add interest. For a show of color, I added my Gucci head wrap in fuscia. It was purchased at the online summer sale at Bergdorf Goodman.com. If you haven’t taken a look, you might want to. To accessorize, I added my Hermes enamel H bracelets. While leaving the mall, I visited a new (to me) make up counter in the location of my usual make up counter. I decided to give the Tom Ford products a try. Jason did my make up and I really like the product. More to come on this exciting find! The day was a success, gifts in hand and a fresh looking face, my work was done.
